Worried

Hi
Not been on here for sometime but always nice to know that you are here especially during stressful times . I am eleven years post cancer and I have developed sore patch on floor of mouth having a ct scan on Sunday ; just wondering could this be old scar tissue opening up? Has anybody else had anything similar after so many years after surgery. Surgery I had was quite extensive for a stage one tongue cancer , had a neck dissection , left me with so many nerve problems , I feel the surgery and it’s aftermath were worse than the cancer itself , feeling angry I guess but thankful to be alive

I have a lump on the floor of my mouth that my dentist picked up on and have had MRI and CT scans and there is nothing there my dentist and consultant both think it's a saliver gland blocking. I take it it was due to the radio therapy as the ones at the back of my mouth have gone, I had the neck dissection as well but mine was only 3 1/2 years ago and have had the lump for at least two years. I am trying to point out that it could be nothing but if you have a good dentist and consultant then they should of pointed you in the right direction. my cancer was not tongue but roof of mouth.
Hi Dr Joshi
I have seen my consultant today ,because of my history of mouth cancer x2 im having a biopsy next Tuesday on floor of mouth just to be certain it’s nothing sinister . It’s back to the mouthwash for me and a long anxious wait for results! Will let you know results and thank you so much for reading post x
