Well all is well got the results of my CT! And the tumors are thinning with just two treatments! So I have decided to do two more treatements and see how they look! On another note I am getting a power port. If you don't know what that is it is an iv access for blood draws and medications and chemotherapy. My veins are shot at this point and it is very hard to get a decent vein for chemo and ct's and drawing blood.

Thanks again will keep you posted!

Pam
Absolutely fabulous news, Pam. Keep up the great progress. And! A power port no less. Sounds like the latest in fashion accessories! Obviously you need something to make the road a little easier to travel and hopefully this will do it for you.
You sound very upbeat. Keep smiling.
Onwards and upwards.
Deborah
PS I got a bit excited when I was reading your post ~ my footy team is called Port Power!
So pleased the chemo has got working so quickly for you. It will certainly help having the power port instead of trying to search time after time for a decent vein. When I had my kidney transplant they eventually had to use my ankle!
Cheers
Sandy
ps - did the hair you lost from rads grow back quickly?
Sanjan,

Yes the hair I lost from radiation due to my exit point the back of my head did grow back fast but was a bit finer. Everyone thought I just shaved my hair underneath because it was a perfect line. It was just in the area straight back from my mouth. My husband said it was hard to shave that area when we shaved my head because it was so fine.

Pam
hi pam hey the tumours are thinning so great news there then and long may it continue Smileras regarding the port line you have had put in,i had one as well for chemo and bloods and once chemo was finished after 3 courses they removed it and boy did i miss it because my veins collapsed and it was agony for them to give me i.v's and take blood etc so i really missed it.good luck with the treatments and lovely to hear from you.love shirl xxx
Julia,

I am doing well I just had a ct and pet scan this past week waiting on results have dr appt monday! Doing really well besides nerve pain in my legs the left is worse than the right. I have done four cycles of chemo the first two had made changes to the tumours so now we are looking to see what two more had done. SO I may or may not be doing more?

Yes it is spring hear in the Cincinnati area as well we had two days of 82 degrees! But windy and few springs today!

Happy easter!

Pam
Hello everyone,

Just to let you know my scan came back with not so good news! I now have a tumor in my left hip bone! Friday I have an mri of my left fehmer to figure out why I am having so much pain there when the pet scan and ct shows the tumor up in the hip. But neither scan went all the way to the thigh.

Pam
Hi all,

I am at treatment right now. They have wifi! I am taking cisplatin right now and will be taking fluorouracil home with me today and get unhooked friday. Hopefully I won't be sick. I have lots of new nausea meds and will be taking neurotin some more for my siatic nerve in my left leg. Hopefully that will help. But all is well so far other than living in the restroom here from all the fluids to keep the kidneys flushed.

Pam
I did cisplatin yesterday in the office. I was sent home with iv of 5-fu. I don't like carrying this pouch around. Makes it difficult to do things. It doesn't get disconnectd till friday. Feeling a little icky haven't ate much but keeping the fluids up. Stomach just to queezy taking lot of nausea med haven't gotten sick but have came close. Outside of that just tired and resting alot.

Pam
Hi Pam
I haven't been on here for a few weeks, due to feeling really rough over the last three weeks since I finished my rads.So it came as a shock to hear you now have some of the little bu**ers in your bone now.
I really hope that they will be exterminated as well the ones in your lungs.
Hopefully the anti nausea meds are now keeping the sickness at bay.
You're doing so well so keep it up.
Love
Sandy
Have felt icky all week hadn't gotten sick until today! Thought I was doing good ate an antire meal and low and behold it came back to visit 3 hours later. Dang it. I have lost 9 lbs this week! I am below radiation weight nurse gave me grief friday I am not trying to loose weight nor want to just trying to get thru this and eat again.

Pam
Damn,

I was looking forward to maybe in the next month to stop wearing hats unless in the sun a long time. My hair coming in is black ugh! my hair was a light brown with blonde highlights! Oh well quess can't put the hats away yet! Tired of my head sweating. I rip my hat off as soon as I get in the house since it has been in the 70's and 80's lately. But the weekend is going to be cool!
Well,

Did round two of cisplatin and 5-fu! Eating was better besides too many blisters to eat. So instead I had drinks like ensure this time I only lost 6lbs in a week! I am currently the skinniest I have ever been! The blisters just now healed so a week and half of not eating well was fun! Only threw up once this time but that is because I coughed in the middle of eating a hamburger! Have had lots of phlegm this time and cold so coughing up stuff but so is everyone in the house!

I also started radiation 5 down five to go!

Pam
Hi all,

Time to update.

3rd round chemo done well of this med. 7 all together.

Had cat scan.

Lungs shrunk tumor in hip grew! No more traditional chemo!

So we may do more radiation see rad dr on the 6th! Get to see if eligible for clinical trial at UC in Cincinnati on the 13th. They now have a Head and Neck specialist! Who knows my dr quite well and wants to meet me! If this doesn't work who knows what is next. Erbitux dr says is his last resort.

Pam
Hi Pam
That's what you call the good news and the bad news. Bugga.
Hell you've had a tough ride but I am always blown away by your resiliance and go get 'em attitude. I really take my hat off to you.
I think of you all the time Pam and if positive vibes and very best wishes account for anything, you've got mine great piles.
Keep us posted and 'stay strong' as someone we all know would say.
Love from Down Under

Hi all,

Well I learned more from my radiation oncologist than my medical oncologist.

No radiation because it didn't help and only gave temporary relief. She wants me to meet with someone about radio frequency ablation. I had asked about that before to my lungs and was told we could look into it. That was months ago.

Well she read over my entire CAT scan with me. I actually have more tumors lesions whatever. One on the liver now and one in my belly on/in a lymphnode. The lungs didn't really change that much just no longer air filled same dimensions. The hip grew from 2.6 cm to 4.2 since march and all the while I was on cisplatin and 5-fu and radiation 10 treatments.

So I just don't know I am still going to give it all I got but this has to change.

Trying to take a vacation end of month.

Pam
Hello Pam
I hope you're able to get that holiday you're hoping for. Do you have sunny weather now? I hope the skies are blue and full of sunshine. Rest up and prepare to take on the world and all it throws your way. You're a fighter and will give it all you've got, I know.
Thinking of you and sending love and nothing but good wishes
Deborah
