My mom was diagnosed with base of tongue cancer September 2018. She went through all the necessary steps to remove and treat, but unfortunately it came back in February 2019. She chose not to remove her tongue and instead we started palliative chemo and then immunotherapy. Nothing worked to keep the tumors from growing and now she can hardly speak or swallow.
My sister and I have walked this journey with my mom for 11 mos. We have no idea what's ahead and how long this will go on, but it's unbelievably sad to witness. Has anyone out there had a loved one pass from tongue cancer?
