I noticed this lump about 3 weeks ago, it doesn't look serious. It isn't very big, fairly small actually. Anyways do you think this is something I should ask my doctor about, or is a nothing lump that I should ignore?

If I should ask my doctor, how many months should I wait to see if it goes away on its own before asking?

Hi Doug

I don't mean to panic you, but it's usually recommended that you see a doctor if an anomaly hasn't cleared up in about 3 weeks.

Let us know how things turn out.

Hi Doug,

Medical diagnoses are never really possible from a photograph. Yes, you should get it checked out with a doctor as soon as you can, if only to allay your fears.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on with the doctor.

I am fairly certain it isn't anything important. I was planning on giving it 6 months. Just wondered if people could tell what it is
I rather wait because I don't want to waste time going to doctor for nothing.

What is Dr Vinod opinion I wonder.
I decided to ask one of those online doctors. Who says it is just inflammation, which they insist can last for months. So I will give it 6 months.

edit: apparently the online doctor has had a change of opinion. It isn't inflammation, as the inflammation is a separate issue caused by a recent illness. He advises that I should see my own doctor if it doesn't clear in another two weeks.

I will see a doctor in January I think, as I don't have time this month.

Doug,

You WILL NOT be wasting your doctor's time! You will have wasted everyone's time should you wait and it proves to be serious thereby taking even more radical treatment if it is the worst scenario.

Please MAKE the time to see your doctor.
