Hello. I've had what I believed to be a canker sore under my tongue since the holidays. It wasn't healing and is very painful. I went to the doctor and he sent me to the oral surgeon and I go Tuesday. I'm preparing for the worst outcome because I think "what else can it be?"

I guess a biopsy will be done? I really don't know what to expect. Any support would be so appreciated right now.

Thanks in advance

Nothing to report yet. The oral surgeon said it looked like a tumor and he's sending me to Yale. I go 2/17.

Not sure what to expect there.
Hello Tonita

I guess they will want to do a biopsy first to decide on what the ulcer is , and then do further investigation if necessary.

Chin up.

Best wishes
Hi Tonita

No doubt you have a lot of questions. Write them down and take them along so you can get the answers. If at all possible, don't go alone. Not only can the other person (or people) provide moral support, but their calmer heads will be better able to absorb the information you'll be swimming in.

You'll have so much on your mind that you'll be easily distracted, so driving would be a bad idea.

Let us know how things go. I hope it helps to know that you're no totally alone in this.
