History: suffered oral lichen planus (erosive under tongue and non-erosive on inside of cheeks) for approx 17 years. Around 14 months ago I had a wide local excision on left lateral tongue which removed dyplasia with clear margins. Approx. 12 months ago one of the medical staff wanted to do a biopsy on right bucal mucosa (inside cheek) and so far still waiting. I've just noticed an irregular dark spot in that area.

Does it look concerning or likely to be benign eg blood blister (thanks dr google for giving me a good option to consider!)

From the photo, it does look like a blood blister from cheek biting. It should disappear in about 7-10 days. If not, see your dentist for an opinion.
