Hi all,
Few concerns...here it goes. I have reoccurring ulcers in my mouth. Usually in my cheeks and although they are annoying they come and go with little pain. For the past 2 months I have had a ulcer under my tongue , white center that turned red and is still there. A few days after I got another ulcer on my tongue , swells up, white center turns red after about a week but is still there. My lymph nodes in my neck seem to swell up on and off. My throat is definitely raspy sounding and that comes and goes as well.

I went to my dr because in addition to this my throat had been hurting so bad. He swabbed these ULcers, ran labs, and checked my blood work. I am anemic but have been for years and he said it was right on the line. The ulcers were negative for herpes . My platelet count was a little elevated but that's all I have for answers.
My tongue has been sensitive for about a year now so I pretty much avoid spicy foods because it causes my mouth to burn and swell. During the last year I feel like I have developed a "geographic" tongue with indentations and it's just not real pretty lol. Each morning my tongue feels swollen and sore and I have this hard bump that remains on my tongue but will swell up throughout the day. All of this is causing me a great amount of pain and they have started randomly bleeding after I brush my teeth. Oh and lately I feel like I have phlegm caught in my throat and its like something is stuck... The dr prescribed me "magic mouthwash" about 2 months ago but clearly it is not helping . I have an appt with ENT IN 2 weeks ...I'm nervous . Should I be?[FLASH_VIDEO] [/FLASH_VIDEO][FLASH_VIDEO] [/FLASH_VIDEO]

I am sure you are worried, but at least you have an ENT appointment, which is very important and will put your mind at rest one way or the other. Do you have an actual date for the ENT or were you told that it would be within the two weeks? I was told that mine would be within the two weeks - and it was. Once the thing was put in motion things moved very fast.

I hope this turns out to be nothing serious and a sensible solution can be found to the problems - maybe the anaemia isn't helping anything?

Please keep in touch and let us know the outcome.

I'll be thinking of you on June 1st. Try to write down all the questions you want to ask and, if possible, take someone with you so that there are two of you listening to the answers that come back. Whatever it is there is always a lot of information to take in - too much to keep track of on your own.

Please keep in touch with any concerns you may have.
