Hi everyone I need some advice please. My husband noticed white spots in his mouth so he went to G.P and the dentist who both suspected Cancer. We were sent for a scan of his neck and they took a biopsy a week ago. We were told it was cancer however We were eagerly waiting for further diagnosis of the stage and type however, today he has been asked to go for further tests for MRI craniofacial and neck in addition a ct thorax and abdomen scan with contrast. Thissounds very scary can anyone talk to me about this please

Hi Sharon, I had to have all the tests and scans as you describe after my biopsy confirmed the cancer so it is probably standard so as they can check everything carefully, it is not as scary as it all sounds. I don't know if different hospitals have different procedures but I wasn't told about grades etc until after the operation, they did however say that it had been caught early which hopefully will be the same for your husband. Just be strong for him and give him as much support as you can and remember to write things down as it's surprising how your mind goes blank once you walk into the Consultants office. I hope this helps a little, Emmy
