Hi all, not posted on here for quite a while. I was diagnosed with lichen planus in my cheeks a few years back along with erosive lichen planus under my tongue. Kept up my reviews with the consultant but eventually stopped going as life took over. Went to dentist for a check up on Thursday and I've been asked to see a consultant tomorrow (Monday) .....that's as much as I've been told.

As this is essentially an urgent referral I'm guessing they suspect possible cancer.

I have an ulcer under my tongue that has been there for I don't know how long - but long (at least a year probably quite a bit more) which I just put down to the erosive lichen planus. The ulcer is painless but my tongue and mouth feel sore ( but not pain when dentist was prodding the ulcer). Over the last month or so my tongue has been feeling numb at times (on the tip and at the sides) and sometimes tingles when drinking fluids. Being mindful of my mouth since the referral I've noticed a pain in my throat but can't work out if it's higher up or lower, probably just a throat infection to be honest at lots colds going round at the moment. Just wondering if this sound familiar or if you think it's cause for concern? Probably should just wait and see what happens tomorrow but I'm sure you can appreciate the wait feels like forever even though they're being really speedy.
