I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but since the Biotene mouth wash changed ta ingredients I can no longer use their products.
The mouth wash was a staple part of me regime for dry mouth care. The new formula gives me sores and ulcers.
Has anyone found a decent alternative?
The Boots own version is far too strong and minty! It burns!
I'm so disappointed they changed the formula.
I've seen from their Facebook page many people have the same issues!

Hi Chelle

I have also found the Biotene mouth wash too strong, but then everything about my mouth is particularly sensitive at the moment. I use either Fluorigard (the green one, without alcohol) or Duraphat - both recommended by my dentist. I know that experimenting can become costly but give the Fluoride a go.

Good luck.
Just in case this helps: For a very long time, following treatment, Stephen diluted Biotene mouthwash (1/2 or even 2/3 water to 1/2 or 1/3 mouthwash).

~Gargling with Baking Soda Rinse (1 teaspoon baking soda in 1 cup water) may be helpful.

~Seltzer water can be a helpful and cooling rinse throughout the day as well.

It takes a long time, but sensitivity should gradually become less....
Thanks for the suggestions!
My problem is with the Biotene change of ingredients. It was a brilliant product before and I don't know why the had to change it! After 8 years I don't think the sensitivity will get any better than it now.
It's not a problem day to day, but whatever they did with Biotene does not help or relieve my dry mouth at all.
Until this week I had even diluting corsodyl.
But I have just discovered Oralseven.
It's an Austalian brand and its even better than Biotene was!
It's only been a couple of days but its helped sooo much!
I found it in UK on eBay. But it's so expensive I'm going to talk to my GP about seeing if its available on prescription.
Highly recommend!
