After effects of surgery

I am 2 and a half years on from a partial glossectomy and selective neck dissection following a diagnosis of SCC.  Over the past 8 months I have been experiencing some problems in my throat. I saw an ENT consultant at the end of November and following a fluoroscopy and having a camera look down my throat I was told I have some scarring (this is narrowing my airway) which they think is from the intubation tube from my surgery. I am due to have this scarring lasered off and a balloon inflated to expand my airway. Has anyone else experienced this problem as a result of their surgery? I am a bit surprised given my history that they don’t want to do any scans to have a better look at what’s going on.

I also had partial glossectomy (and pharyngectomy) with neck dissection 1 and a half years ago following diagnosis of SCC.  They mentioned that balloon thing as a possibility, but I've done OK in therapy and it's not necessary.  As for scans, I'm pretty sure if they thought they might find another tumor they would go after it like it came with a commission.
